Privacy Policy for Cinepark
This privacy policy explains how Cinepark (“the App”) handles information. The App is a video player for Android that plays videos stored on your own device. It is free to download, with an optional one-time purchase through Google Play.
1. Summary
- The App plays videos from a folder you choose on your device.
- The App does not use accounts, advertising, analytics, or crash reporting. Its only internet use is Google Play’s purchase handling.
- We do not operate servers that receive your videos or usage data from the App.
2. Information processed on your device
When you pick a folder, the App reads the videos in it through Android’s system folder picker, with read-only access that you can revoke at any time in Android settings. The App also keeps video thumbnails, resume positions, and your theme choice. All of this stays on your device. The App does not upload your videos or this data.
3. What we collect
We do not collect personal information from the App. The App itself makes no network connections; the only exception is purchases, handled by Google Play as described below.
Purchases through Google Play. The App offers an optional one-time purchase. Google Play processes the payment under Google’s terms; we never receive your card or payment details. To unlock what you bought, the App asks Google Play whether you own it and remembers the answer on your device, so it keeps working offline. Google Play gives us the usual sales records (such as an order number, country and amount) through our developer account; we use them only for accounting, refunds and support. Google’s Play Billing library, included in the App, may send diagnostic information about the purchase process to Google. This is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
If you email us for support, we receive whatever you include in that message so we can reply.
4. Sharing
We do not sell or share App data with third parties, because we do not receive it. The App does not include third-party ads or analytics SDKs. The only third-party library that goes online is Google Play Billing, described above.
5. Permissions
The App works without broad storage access. It only accesses the folder you select with the system folder picker. The internet and billing permissions are there for Google Play purchases only; you don’t need a connection to watch your videos.
6. Retention and deletion
Thumbnails, resume positions, and settings are stored only in the App’s private storage and are deleted when you uninstall the App. Your original video files remain wherever you stored them. The record of your purchase stays with Google Play, so reinstalling the App with the same Google account restores it.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
